What is it with Indian mothers and their sons? I am completely fed up with the nauseating behaviour of certain related moms and their sons. Apparently all Indian moms (i look like the single exception) go gaga when they have a son. From then on, every hope, every unfulfilled wish, every prayer is invested in their pride and joy and he is exalted far above the status of a mere God. He can do no wrong. Anyone will be less than satisfactory as a spouse for him. She wil cook and clean for him till she's ninety and not think it ridiculous that a 70 year old 'boy' is old enough to take care of himself!!
The Indian mother does not like her daughter - of course this is mitigated slightly if the daughter lives abroad providing that necessary status boost to the family. If you live in India and you are a daughter, your worth is less than cowdung ( which is actually considered very worthy stuff here ;-)). There's simply too much of my heart on this subject so I will defer the rest to a later blog - adieu.
